Indian Institute of Information Technology Una (IIIT Una) is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute has released Advt. No. IIITU-T-2026/01 to 16 for regular faculty recruitment across the School of Computing, School of Electronics, and School of Basic Sciences. Assistant Professor Grade-II has the highest number of vacancies, including posts in Mathematics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Design Engineering, English, Management Studies, and Physics.

Category-wise total: UR 15, OBC 7, SC 1, ST 2, and EWS 1. The Assistant Professor Grade-II total includes backlog vacancies, and 1 post is reserved for PwD as per Government of India norms.

Who Can Apply?

Professor

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline.
• Experience: You need 15 years in teaching and research, with the required Associate Professor level experience.
• Academic work: You need research publications, Ph.D. guidance, sponsored projects or consultancy, outreach work, institute management contribution, and 80 cumulative essential credit points.

Associate Professor

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline with First Class or CGPA 6.5 and above in both UG and PG degrees.
• Experience: You need 6 years at Assistant Professor Grade-I level.
• Academic work: You need publications, Ph.D. guidance, sponsored projects or consultancy, outreach work, and 50 cumulative essential credit points.

Assistant Professor Grade-I

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline with First Class or CGPA 6.5 and above in both UG and PG degrees.
• Experience: You need 3 years at Assistant Professor Grade-II level.
• Academic work: You need publications, Ph.D. guidance, sponsored project work, and 20 cumulative essential credit points.

Assistant Professor Grade-II

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in an appropriate discipline.
• Academic record: You need First Class or CGPA 6.5 and above in both UG and PG degrees.
• Specializations: Computing, Electronics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Design Engineering, English, Management Studies, Physics, and related areas listed in the notice are covered.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for all faculty posts: less than 60 years.
• Age will be checked as on the last date of the advertisement.
• Age relaxation: Applicable as per Government of India norms.

Salary

• Professor: Initial pay Rs. 1,59,100 at Cell 1, Level 14A.
• Associate Professor: Initial pay Rs. 1,39,600 at Cell 1, Level 13A2.
• Assistant Professor Grade-I: Initial pay Rs. 1,01,500 at Cell 1, Level 12.
• Assistant Professor Grade-II: Initial pay Rs. 70,900 at Cell 8, Level 10.
• Allowances, increments, probation, and pension rules are as per Government of India norms and institute rules.

Application Fee

• UR / OBC category: Rs. 2,000.
• Other categories and female candidates: Rs. 1,000.
• Fee is calculated separately for each position selected in the online form.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded.

Selection Process

IIIT Una will use different stages for senior faculty posts and Assistant Professor Grade-II.

1. Screening: Applications are checked for qualification, experience, credit points, Research and Academic Score, and supporting documents.
2. Departmental Presentation: Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor Grade-I applicants shortlisted after screening must present their research contribution, future research plan, teaching plan, and academic vision.
3. Written Test: Assistant Professor Grade-II applicants shortlisted after screening must appear for an offline MCQ written test at IIIT Una.
4. Document Verification: Original documents and signed application PDF are checked before the written test, presentation, or interview stage.
5. Presentation-cum-Interview: Final selection is based on the notified weightage for Research Academic Score, Credit Points or Written Test, and interview performance.
