Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani (IIIT Kalyani) is hiring Junior Research Fellows for a sponsored project on code-based post-quantum cryptography. The project brings together algorithm development and security analysis, with the research based at the institute in Kalyani, West Bengal. This is a contractual research engagement under the TTDF/TCoE project.

The project is led by Dr. Debasish Bera and Dr. Bhaskar Biswas, Assistant Professors in Computer Science and Engineering. Its scope is the design and development of post-quantum cryptography algorithms and analysis of their security, specifically using a code-based approach. If you join, your research will sit within this defined project rather than a general institute appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project period: The notice gives the project a four-year tenure. It does not separately promise every selected fellow a four-year appointment, so you should distinguish the project period from your eventual appointment terms.
• Nature of appointment: The JRF post is purely contractual. The notice does not offer a regular institute position through this recruitment.
• Doctoral registration: Selected fellows are expected to register for the institute's full-time Ph.D. programme under its rules. Keep this expectation in mind when considering the research commitment.
• Institute decision: Meeting the stated requirements does not guarantee entry to either the JRF position or the Ph.D. programme. IIIT Kalyani retains the final decision and may leave positions unfilled if it does not find suitable applicants.
• Travel and stay: You must arrange your own accommodation in Kalyani if needed. The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview.
