ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey & Land Use Planning (ICAR-NBSS&LUP), Regional Centre Kolkata has released a walk-in interview notice for 1 post of Young Professional-I under the project "Land Resource Inventory (LRI) and Suitability Assessment of ICAR-NISA & KVK, Khunti Research Farms, Jharkhand using Geospatial Techniques". ICAR-NBSS&LUP functions under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, and operates regional centres across the country, including this one in Kolkata, to carry out soil survey, land resource mapping and land-use planning studies for different states. This is a purely contractual position for 11 months, or until the project ends, whichever is earlier, with the initial place of posting at Salt Lake, Kolkata. Candidates with GIS, remote sensing or geospatial mapping experience will be preferred, and this is a good opportunity for young graduates looking to build a career in agricultural research and geoinformatics.
