HP State Consumer Commission Senior Scale Stenographer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Himachal Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Shimla has released Advertisement Notice No. HP/CPC/SSS/2026 (1) dated 8 April 2026 for filling up one (01) post of Senior Scale Stenographer (Group-C). The recruitment is governed by the Himachal Pradesh State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Recruitment, Promotion, Control, Conduct, Discipline and Appeal and other conditions of service) Rules, 2024, framed under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. This is an offline application process — the form must be routed through your Controlling Authority. Candidates who applied earlier under Advt. Notice No. HP/CPC/SSS/2025(2) dated 14.08.2025 need not apply again.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent from a University recognised by the Government of Himachal Pradesh
• English Shorthand Speed: 100 words per minute
• English Typing Speed: 40 words per minute
• Computer Knowledge: Adequate knowledge of word processing on computer
• Service Eligibility: The post will be filled by candidates working as Junior Scale Stenographers / Steno-Typists / Judgment Writers in the Hon'ble High Court of Himachal Pradesh, District Judiciary, or Government / Semi-Government establishments
• Service Length: You must have 5 years of regular service, or regular combined with continuous ad-hoc service, in the feeder category

Salary

• Pay Matrix: Rs. 38,500 - Rs. 1,22,700 (Level-11, Cell-1) per month
• Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per Government of Himachal Pradesh rules
• Selected candidates may be posted anywhere in Himachal Pradesh, including District Consumer Commissions

• Payment Mode: Demand Draft (DD) or Indian Postal Order (IPO), payable in favour of 'Registrar, H.P. State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Shimla'
• The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Applications received through Controlling Authority are checked against eligibility criteria
2. Proficiency / Typing Test: Shortlisted candidates will be intimated through email about the proficiency / typing test schedule
3. Final Selection: Based on overall merit and performance in the proficiency test

3. Attach passport size photo duly attested by a Gazetted Officer
4. Enclose self-attested copies of certificates: Matric, 10+2, Graduation/PG, service certificates, category certificate (if any)
5. Attach the Demand Draft / IPO of Rs. 500 as application fee
6. Get the Undertaking / Certificate filled and signed by your Head of Office (with office seal)

8. Make sure your application reaches on or before 22 May 2026 by 5:00 PM. Late or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected

• Take dictation in English shorthand at 100 words per minute and transcribe it on computer
• Type official letters, judgments, orders and reports at 40 words per minute
• Maintain confidentiality of consumer dispute case files and proceedings
• Assist senior officers and the President of the Commission with stenography work
• Prepare daily cause lists, minutes of meetings and other office records
• Handle word processing, file management and routine secretarial duties
• Coordinate with District Consumer Commissions across Himachal Pradesh on documentation
