Apply for 5 Manipur Judicial Service Grade-I posts in HC Manipur. Serving MJS Grade-II officers eligible. Last date: 30 Sep 2026.

HC Manipur MJS Grade-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

The High Court of Manipur (HC Manipur) at Imphal is filling vacant posts in Manipur Judicial Service (MJS) Grade-I, the senior tier of the state's judicial service. This is not an open recruitment — the posts go only to officers already working in the MJS Grade-II cadre, who will be selected on merit through a Limited Departmental Examination.

The notice was issued by the Registrar General of the High Court in September 2026. If you are a Civil Judge or judicial officer in Manipur with the required years of service, this is your route to move up into Grade-I, the highest grade of the Manipur Judicial Service. Law graduates or advocates who are not already in the service cannot apply through this notice.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Only for serving officers: You must be a regular member of Manipur Judicial Service Grade-II. Outside candidates, contract staff and officers of other state services are not covered.
  • Grade-II service: Your years in Grade-II are counted from your date of regular appointment to that grade — the notice asks for regular service specifically. Keep your appointment order ready.
  • Combined service: Your time in Grade-III and Grade-II together is also checked, which is why the form asks for the date you first joined as MJS Grade-III.
  • Merit-based selection: Selection depends on your performance in the Limited Departmental Examination, not on seniority alone. The notice does not publish a syllabus or exam date, so watch the High Court website for the schedule.
  • Where you will work: Grade-I officers serve in the courts of Manipur, and postings follow the orders of the High Court.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form for this drive. You write your own application on plain paper giving the particulars the notice asks for, attach attested copies of your supporting documents, and make sure it reaches the Registrar General, High Court of Manipur, Imphal by the closing date. The deadline is for receipt at the High Court, not for posting, so send it early or hand it over in person.

Your application should clearly show these details:

  • Your name in block letters and your father's or husband's name
  • Date of birth, gender and permanent address
  • Date of regular appointment as an MJS Grade-II officer
  • Date of first appointment as an MJS Grade-III officer
  • A list of the documents you are enclosing

For questions about the process, the High Court runs a recruitment help line on its official website, open on working days between 10 AM and 4 PM. Copies of the notice were also sent to all Chief Judicial Magistrates and Civil Judges (Senior Division) in Manipur, so your court office should have one.

  • Conduct trials, record evidence and write reasoned judgments and orders
  • Supervise the working of subordinate courts and court staff under your charge
  • Manage your cause list and work to reduce pending cases
