GTGH Rajamahendravaram Drug De-Addiction Centre Recruitment 2026 — 12 Posts

Government Teaching General Hospital (GTGH), Rajamahendravaram, under the Health Medical and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, has released Notification No. 01/2026 for recruiting 12 staff members on a purely contract basis for one year to operate the Alcohol and Drug De-Addiction Centre (ADDC). These posts are under the control of the Addl.DME/Superintendent, GTGH, Rajamahendravaram. All posts are open to all categories (1st Point — Open Competition) with reservations applicable as per AP State rules. Who Can Apply?

Doctor (Full Time)

• Qualification: MBBS with valid registration with the Medical Council
• Must undergo training arranged by MOSJE/NISD within three months of joining the IRCA

Project Co-ordinator cum Vocational Counsellor

• Qualification: Graduate in any discipline
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience managing such centres, or demonstrable capability for running one

Nurse (ANM)

• Qualification: Qualified as Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) and trained by a recognised Government Medical Institution

Counsellors / Social Worker / Psychologist

• Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with 3 years of field experience
• Must hold a 3-month Training Course Certificate in De-Addiction Counselling by NISD
• Must have a training course in de-addiction counselling from a recognised institution

Accountant / Clerk

• Qualification: Graduate with knowledge of accounts and working knowledge of computers

Peer Educator

• Qualification: Should be literate; must be an ex-drug user with 1-2 years of sobriety
• Willing to work among the drug-using population and have communication skills
• Agrees to refrain from using, buying, or selling drugs and to work for prevention of harmful drug use

Yoga Therapist / Dance / Music / Art Teacher

• Qualification: Must possess at least 3 years of experience in the relevant discipline

Ward Boy

• Qualification: X Class pass with experience of working in Hospitals, Health care centres, or de-addiction centres

Chowkedar & Housekeeping Worker

• Qualification: General Qualification as SSC (10th Class pass)

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 42 years as on 01 December 2025
• SC / ST / BC / EWS candidates: 5 years relaxation (upper limit: 47 years)
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years in addition to the length of service in armed forces
• Differently Abled Persons: 10 years relaxation
• Maximum age with all relaxations: 52 years

Salary

• Doctor (Full Time): Rs. 60,000 per month
• Project Co-ordinator cum Vocational Counsellor: Rs. 25,000 per month
• Counsellors / Social Worker / Psychologist: Rs. 17,500 per month
• Nurse (ANM): Rs. 15,000 per month
• Ward Boy: Rs. 13,000 per month
• Accountant / Clerk: Rs. 12,000 per month
• Peer Educator: Rs. 10,000 per month
• Chowkedar: Rs. 9,000 per month
• Housekeeping Worker: Rs. 9,000 per month
• Yoga Therapist / Dance / Music / Art Teacher: Rs. 5,000 per month
• Appointment is on contract basis for one year and may be extended as per government instructions.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on a merit system of 100 marks total. There is no written examination.

1. Academic Merit (75 marks): 75% of marks obtained in all years of the qualifying examination or any equivalent qualification
2. Experience Weightage (up to 10 marks): 1 mark per completed year of work experience after acquiring the required qualification, reckoned up to the date of notification
3. Contract Employment Weightage: Extra marks for prior contract work — Tribal Area: 2.5 marks per 6 months; Rural Area: 2.0 marks per 6 months; Urban Area: 1.0 mark per 6 months

• Handle patient care, clinical duties, and de-addiction treatment procedures as per your assigned role at the ADDC
• Assist in running de-addiction counselling sessions, awareness programmes, and rehabilitation activities for patients
• Keep accurate records of patient progress, treatment plans, medicines dispensed, and centre activities
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team — doctors, nurses, counsellors, and support staff — for smooth centre operations
• Follow all Government of Andhra Pradesh rules, hospital guidelines, and instructions from the Addl.DME/Superintendent
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and participate in any MOSJE/NISD training programmes as required
• Stay at the bonafide Head Quarters compulsorily as per the terms of appointment
