Government Polytechnic Guntakal Outsourcing Recruitment 2026 - 6 Posts

Government Polytechnic, Guntakal (under the Department of Higher Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh) has invited applications to fill 6 outsourcing vacancies in Anantapur District. This is a revised notification — the earlier one from February 2024 was cancelled due to incorrect qualification requirements. The posts cover both technical roles (Electrician and Lab Attender) and support staff positions (Watchman, Sweeper, Scavenger). These are contractual positions managed under the APCOS (AP Contract Outsourcing Services) framework.

Vacancy Details

Reservation: Out of 2 Watchman posts, 1 is Open Competition (R.P. No. 1) and 1 is reserved for Scheduled Caste (R.P. No. 2). All other posts are Open Competition.

Who Can Apply?

For Electrician (EEE Branch):

• Qualification: You need a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI in Electrician trade from a recognised institute.
• Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
• If you have higher qualifications in the electrical field, you are also welcome to apply.

For Lab Attender (Mechanical):

• Qualification: You need a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI in trades like Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or Welder.
• Experience: At least 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
• Higher qualifications in the mechanical field are also accepted.

For Watchman (Men Only):

• Qualification: You must have passed 5th Class or an equivalent exam.
• You must be able to ride a bicycle.
• Preference will be given to Ex-Servicemen or candidates trained in Civil Defence / Home Guards.

For Sweeper and Scavenger (Women Only):

• Qualification: You must be able to read and write in Telugu, Urdu, English, or Hindi.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on 27 March 2026 (date of notification).
• SC / ST / BC: 5 years age relaxation (up to 47 years).
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years age relaxation (up to 52 years).
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years plus length of military service, as per AP State and Subordinate Service Rules.

Salary

• Electrician (EEE Branch): Rs. 18,500 per month
• All other posts (Lab Attender, Watchman, Sweeper, Scavenger): Rs. 15,000 per month

Selection Process

Selection will be conducted under the supervision of the District Outsourcing Committee (APCOS), Anantapur District:

1. Screening of Applications: Based on your educational qualifications, experience, and merit.
2. Skill Test / Written Examination: If more than one eligible candidate applies for any post, a skill test or written exam (or both) may be conducted as per the functional needs of the institution.
3. Certificate Verification: Original documents will be checked during the selection process.

Note: The list of eligible candidates and the schedule for certificate verification, written test, skill test, or interview will be displayed on the college notice board.

3. Attach attested copies of all required certificates (educational, experience, identity, caste, etc.).
4. Enclose two self-addressed covers (size 5" x 10") with sufficient postage stamps affixed.

• Handle electrical maintenance and repair work in the EEE department laboratory and campus (Electrician)
• Assist faculty and students during practical lab sessions in the Mechanical Engineering department (Lab Attender)
• Maintain and prepare laboratory equipment, tools, and machinery before and after practicals (Lab Attender)
• Patrol the campus premises and ensure security during assigned shifts (Watchman)
• Monitor entry and exit of visitors and maintain the gate register (Watchman)
• Keep classrooms, corridors, offices, and campus areas clean and hygienic (Sweeper)
• Maintain sanitation facilities and ensure proper waste disposal across the campus (Scavenger)
• Follow all instructions given by the Principal and senior staff regarding daily duties
