GMCH Chandigarh Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh (GMCH Chandigarh) is building the site team for an ICMR-funded neonatal research project in its Department of Neonatology. The study compares two approaches to delayed cord clamping and follows babies born at or after 35 weeks to understand their neurodevelopment. All roles are based at the Sector 32 hospital, so this opportunity suits nursing, allied-health and psychology professionals who are comfortable working directly with mothers, infants and research records.
The notice combines clinical recruitment, family follow-up, developmental assessment and study coordination in one team. You must choose the role that matches your training and use a separate form if you want to be considered for more than one role.
Posts and Disciplines
- Project Technical Support-III: site coordination, case-record review, participant tracking, database support and quality control across the study team.
- Project Nurse-III (Recruitment): mother-infant screening and enrolment in the labour room and maternity areas, with rotational shifts for continuous coverage.
- Project Nurse-III (Follow-up): scheduled contact with families, retention support and collection of growth and outcome information during follow-up.
- Project Nurse-III (Clinical Psychologist): structured infant development assessment, parent counselling and careful recording of neurodevelopmental outcomes.
Post-wise Duties
Project Technical Support-III
You will help supervise the nursing workflow, check case-record forms and keep participant, inventory and study-document systems organised. You will also coordinate with hospital departments and the central study team so protocol work stays consistent.
Project Nurse-III (Recruitment)
You will identify suitable mother-infant pairs in the clinical areas, explain the study and support informed-consent and enrolment records. The work includes coordination with obstetric and neonatal teams and rotating morning, evening and night duties.
Project Nurse-III (Follow-up)
You will plan visits, stay in touch with families and record growth, development and outcome information. Clear counselling and flexible scheduling are important because the role supports continued participation through the study period.
Project Nurse-III (Clinical Psychologist)
You will use standard tools, including BSID-IV and DASII, to conduct infant neurodevelopmental assessments. You will arrange assessment visits, counsel parents and protect the quality and confidentiality of study records.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: the first engagement is for six months and may continue only if performance, funding and project needs support an extension; the posts end with the project and do not create a claim to regular employment.
- Immediate joining: GMCH is filling the project team urgently and expects selected staff to be ready to join without a long delay.
- Shift work: the recruitment nurse role includes rotational duties, including nights, to support round-the-clock enrolment.
- Shortlisting: when applications are numerous, GMCH may use higher relevant qualifications or experience to limit the candidates called for the next stage.
- Communication: shortlist, schedule and result updates will appear on the GMCH website; individual phone or email notices are not promised.
- Travel: GMCH will not pay TA or DA for attending a screening test or interaction.
