Government Museum and Art Gallery (GMAG), Sector-10, Chandigarh has invited online applications for direct recruitment to 4 posts across technical, administrative, and support roles. The museum is one of India's premier cultural institutions, housing a rich collection of Gandharan sculptures, Pahari and Rajasthani miniature paintings dating back to pre-partition era. Who Can Apply?

Chemist (Level-6):

• Qualification: You need a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from a recognised university.

Librarian (Level-6):

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science from a recognised university.

Projectionist (Level-2):

• Qualification: You need to have passed 10th class (Matriculation) and hold a Projectionist Certificate from a recognised institution.

Caretaker (Level-2):

• Qualification: You need to have passed 10th class (Matriculation) from a recognised board.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 37 years old as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Available for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Chandigarh Administration rules.

Salary

• Chemist and Librarian: Pay Level-6 with a salary range of Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month. With current DA and allowances, your in-hand salary at entry level will be approximately Rs. 62,000-72,000 per month.
• Projectionist and Caretaker: Pay Level-2 with a salary range of Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month. With allowances, your approximate in-hand salary at entry level will be around Rs. 35,000-42,000 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as per Chandigarh Administration rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Examination: Scheduled for 03 May 2026. Questions will be based on the relevant subject area for each post.
2. Document Verification: Candidates who clear the written exam will be called for document checking.
3. Final Merit List: Based on the written exam performance and document verification.
