GIDC Degree Engineering College (GDEC), Navsari is hiring 1 Principal for its Engineering programme. GIDC Degree Engineering College (GDEC) Principal Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

GIDC Degree Engineering College is a joint venture of the Government of Gujarat and GIDC, managed by the GIDC Education Society and located at Village Abrama, Navsari. The college runs its Engineering programme under approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University (GTU). GDEC offers undergraduate Engineering programmes across five branches — Automobile, Civil, Computer, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering — and is registered as a PPP Mode Institution under the GIDC Education Society, Gandhinagar. Through this notice dated 08 August 2026, GDEC has invited applications for 1 Principal post to head its Engineering programme. Only offline applications are accepted — the college will not consider any online submission, courier, or hand-delivery, only Registered AD or Speed Post of India Post. This is a senior academic leadership opening for candidates who already have significant experience as professors, researchers or industry heads and want to run a PPP-mode technical institute.

Who Can Apply?

GDEC has set its Principal eligibility strictly as per AICTE and GTU norms. You must meet all three conditions below to apply:

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. degree in the relevant Engineering/Technology branch, along with First Class (or equivalent) at either your Bachelor's or Master's level.
• Research Record: You must have successfully guided at least 2 Ph.D. scholars as Supervisor or Co-Supervisor, and published a minimum of 8 research papers in SCI journals or UGC/AICTE-approved journals.
• Teaching/Industry Experience: You need at least 15 years of experience in teaching, research or industry, and at least 3 of those years must be at a post equivalent to Professor.

The 3 years of Professor-equivalent experience must fall within your total 15 years of experience, not in addition to it. Your Ph.D. guidance record and publication count will both be checked against your bio-data and supporting documents during screening, so keep certified proof of every claim ready.

Candidates who do not meet all three conditions will not be considered, so check your certificates and experience letters carefully before applying. The notice does not mention any age limit, so this is open to eligible candidates of any age.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

GDEC has not announced any written test for the Principal post. Based on the notice, your selection will go through these stages:

1. Application Screening: The institute checks your qualification, research record, and experience documents against the eligibility criteria.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview at the college. You must bring all original certificates and mark sheets to prove your claims — failing to bring originals will disqualify you from the interview process.

Note: No TA/DA (travel or daily allowance) will be paid for attending the interview, and the institute reserves the right not to fill the post without assigning any reason.
