Gautam Buddha University (GBU) is engaging an Assistant Professor in Library and Information Science for the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Greater Noida. This is a full-time, fixed-duration faculty engagement for the 2026-27 academic session, designed to meet the department's current teaching requirement. The role suits a library-science academic who can combine classroom teaching, examination work and research activity in a university setting.

The appointment is being made through a physical walk-in process on the GBU campus. Research publications and earlier teaching at a university, IIT or NIT can strengthen your profile, although the essential academic credentials remain the first screening point.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fixed duration: the engagement is limited to the 2026-27 academic session and can run for a maximum of 11 months, or for a shorter period if the university's requirement ends earlier.
• No regular claim: selection does not create a right to regular appointment, absorption, regular-faculty allowances or another contractual term after this engagement.
• Full-time commitment: you cannot hold another assignment while working in this role, and you must follow the same working days and hours as regular GBU staff.
• Examination work: faculty must complete the examination duties attached to their allocated courses, including regular, back-paper, special and repeat examinations, even when that work extends beyond the teaching term.
• Leave: the contract provides limited casual and academic leave. Campus accommodation may be offered only if space is available and under the university's prevailing rules.
• Attendance and conduct: prolonged unauthorised absence, concealed information, canvassing or unsatisfactory performance can end the engagement without notice.
• Exit condition: leaving during the contract normally needs one month's prior notice; otherwise, the university may withhold the corresponding contractual payment.
• Travel: GBU will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview or any recruitment test.
