Post-wise Duties

Specialists

As a full-time specialist, you are responsible for patients treated under your supervision in your discipline. The role includes round-the-clock on-call availability. Part-time specialists follow the hospital’s specified attendance and emergency-call arrangements.

Senior Residents

You will work under ESIC senior-resident norms, with duties assigned by the Medical Superintendent. The contract follows the hospital’s no-work-no-pay condition.

Ayurveda and Homeopathy Physicians

Your work follows the duties of a regular Medical Officer in the respective system. The notice identifies these as separate physician roles within the same hospital recruitment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: Specialist appointments initially run for one year or until a regular incumbent joins, whichever comes first. Senior-resident appointments may continue up to three years through yearly renewal, subject to performance and hospital need. The physician engagement is initially for one year.
• Part-time consideration: For the starred Dermatology and Radiology specialist posts, full-time applicants receive preference. Part-time applicants are considered when sufficient full-time applicants are unavailable.
• Work arrangements: Part-time specialists work at least 16 hours weekly across four days. Additional hours and emergency visits need the Medical Superintendent’s justification. Emergency-call payments carry round-the-clock availability, and part-time specialists have no leave or other benefits under the stated terms.
• Practice and parallel employment: Private practice is prohibited. You cannot hold contractual engagements at two ESIC hospitals or medical institutions simultaneously.
• Joining commitments: A security deposit is required at joining. A senior resident leaving within six months loses that deposit. Specialists must also provide the prescribed indemnity bond.
• No regularisation: This engagement gives no claim to a regular hospital appointment. Selection remains subject to scrutiny at joining.
• Hospital discretion: Department requirements can change, and the hospital may leave posts unfilled or alter the interview arrangements. No travel or daily allowance is paid for attending.
