DVC Executive Trainee Recruitment 2026 - 16 Posts

Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), a Miniratna Category-I PSU under the Ministry of Power, has released notification for 16 Executive Trainee posts across three engineering disciplines -- Information Technology, Mining, and Chemical. DVC was established in 1948 for holistic development of the Damodar valley across Jharkhand and West Bengal, and its headquarters is in Kolkata. There is no written exam -- selection is purely based on your GATE-2025 score followed by document verification. Engineering graduates who appeared for GATE 2025 in Computer Science (CS), Mining Engineering (MN), or Chemical Engineering (CH) should apply.

Who Can Apply?

Executive Trainee (IT) - Post No. 2026/02

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology in Information Technology or Computer Science from an AICTE-approved university or institution.
• Marks Required: At least 65% aggregate for General, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates. At least 60% aggregate for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.
• GATE Paper: Must have a valid GATE-2025 score in Computer Science (CS).

Executive Trainee (Mining) - Post No. 2026/03

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from an AICTE-approved university or institution.
• Marks Required: At least 65% aggregate for General, OBC (NCL), and EWS. At least 60% aggregate for SC and ST candidates.
• GATE Paper: Must have a valid GATE-2025 score in Mining Engineering (MN).

Executive Trainee (Chemical) - Post No. 2026/04

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology in Chemical Engineering from an AICTE-approved university or institution.
• Marks Required: At least 65% aggregate for OBC (NCL). At least 60% aggregate for SC and ST candidates.
• GATE Paper: Must have a valid GATE-2025 score in Chemical Engineering (CH).

Only GATE-2025 marks (out of 100) are valid. GATE scores from 2024 or earlier are not accepted.

Final semester candidates who have appeared in 2025 exams can also apply, but they must produce their degree certificate at the time of Document Verification.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 29 years as on the closing date of online application, i.e., 10 April 2026.
• No upper age limit for DVC Departmental candidates (they must also qualify in GATE-2025).
• Age Relaxation for Reserved Categories:
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• SC / ST: 5 years
• PwBD (General / UR): 10 years
• PwBD + OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 13 years
• PwBD + SC / ST: 15 years
• J&K Domicile (born between 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 years
• Ex-Servicemen / Victims of Riots: As per Government of India guidelines

Salary

• Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-10 (7th CPC, M2 Grade).
• Pay range: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
• During the one-year probation period, you will be kept on the same pay scale.
• After successful completion of probation, you will be absorbed as Assistant Manager.
• Allowances: Basic Pay, Central Dearness Allowance (CDA), Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Allowance, NPS, Conveyance Allowance, Leave Encashment, HRA, and other benefits as per DVC rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC (NCL) / EWS: Rs. 300 (non-refundable, online payment only)
• SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen / DVC Departmental Candidates: No fee (exempted)
• Payment Mode: Online only. The fee must be paid in one go -- amounts less than Rs. 300 will not be accepted.
• Last Date for Fee Payment: 10 April 2026

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no separate written exam conducted by DVC. The selection is based on:

1. GATE-2025 Score (Merit-Based): Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on their GATE-2025 marks (out of 100) in the relevant paper. Shortlisting will be done in the ratio of 1:5 or more, category-wise in each discipline.
2. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original certificates. You must bring your original GATE-2025 Admit Card, GATE-2025 Score Card, degree certificates, caste certificates, and all other relevant documents.
3. Pre-Employment Medical Examination: Conducted by the DVC Medical Board. The decision of the Medical Board will be final and binding.

If two or more candidates in the same discipline and category secure equal GATE-2025 marks, the candidate who is senior in age will be placed first in the merit list.

2. Click on "Apply Online" link for the Executive Trainee recruitment.
3. Register yourself on the DVC recruitment portal.
4. Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, and GATE-2025 score.
5. Upload your scanned photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, max 2 MB, png/jpg/jpeg format) and signature.
6. Upload scanned copies of your Class 10th/12th mark sheets, degree certificate, GATE 2025 scorecard, and other documents (PDF only, max 2 MB each).
7. Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
8. Preview and submit the application. Take a printout for your records.

You can apply for only one post/discipline. Once submitted, no changes to Roll No., Registration No., or Name will be allowed.

Service Agreement Bond

• Selected candidates must sign a service agreement bond to serve DVC for a minimum of 4 years (1 year probation + 3 years after confirmation).
• Bond Amount: Rs. 5,00,000 for General, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates. Rs. 2,50,000 for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates.

• Handle operations and maintenance work related to IT systems, mining activities, or chemical processes at DVC plants and stations
• Assist senior engineers and managers in day-to-day technical tasks during the probation period
• Prepare technical reports, project plans, and documentation as assigned by the department
• Monitor equipment performance and report any issues to the supervising officers
• Follow all safety protocols and environmental guidelines applicable to thermal power and mining operations
• Participate in training programs and skill development activities organized by DVC
• Work at any of DVC's establishments across Jharkhand and West Bengal as posted
