DTU Project Assistant I Recruitment 2026: Overview

Delhi Technological University (DTU) is recruiting a Project Assistant I for its Department of Biotechnology in Delhi. The appointment supports a project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), with Dr. Mamta Rani as Principal Investigator. This is a project-linked contractual engagement tied to the research work and its funding.

The study explores halophilic and halotolerant microbes and enzyme technologies for using agricultural waste, improving plant growth and reducing stress in plants. Its wider focus is climate-resilient agriculture under the Bio-E3 vision. You will join the project in the Department of Biotechnology, which is also the stated place of work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: The position is initially for 12 months, or co-terminus with the project, subject to satisfactory performance. The project itself is sanctioned for 36 months, until 1 September 2029; this does not guarantee employment for that entire period.
• Continuation: An annual performance assessment is compulsory. Further engagement depends on satisfactory work, available project funds, project requirements and compliance with DTU rules.
• Project closure: Your appointment ends automatically when the project finishes or is terminated early. The notice provides for this to happen without notice or compensation.
• Regular employment: This engagement gives you no claim to a permanent appointment at DTU or to another university post.
• Research visits: Project-related workshops, conferences, scientific events and visits to organisations or research institutions in India may count as on-duty work. Prior approval from the competent authority or Principal Investigator is necessary.
• University rules: DTU's applicable regulations and disciplinary provisions govern the appointment. Unsatisfactory performance or a breach of university or project rules may end the engagement.
• Leave: You need the Principal Investigator's approval before taking leave. The relevant project guidelines and DTU rules apply.
• Interview travel: No travel or daily allowance is available for attending the walk-in. Plan your visit with this condition in mind.
• Recruitment discretion: DTU may fill the advertised position or leave it unfilled. Canvassing or attempts to use outside influence will result in disqualification.
• Updates: Information about the interview, selection and joining will be shared through email or the official DTU website. The notice does not provide for separate correspondence on these matters.
