DTL AM Trainee Recruitment 2026: Overview

Delhi Transco Limited (DTL), the Delhi government’s State Transmission Utility, is recruiting Assistant Manager Trainees for its technical and civil streams. The company plans, develops, operates and maintains the capital’s extra-high-voltage transmission network. This direct-recruitment drive includes training before absorption into the Assistant Manager cadre, so your appointment carries training and service commitments from the outset.

Posts and Disciplines

• Assistant Manager Technical Trainee — Electrical: the electrical stream within DTL’s technical cadre, associated with its transmission utility operations.
• Assistant Manager Technical Trainee — Non-Electrical: the electronics, communication, computer science and information technology stream within the same technical cadre.
• Assistant Manager Civil Trainee: a separate civil engineering cadre, distinct from the combined technical stream.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Training: you will undergo one year of training, split between three months of academic instruction through NPTI or another approved institute and nine months of field or on-the-job training at DTL substations or offices. Your controlling officer will review progress quarterly.
• Absorption: completion alone does not guarantee absorption. You must pass the training requirements and final assessment. Failure can end your service; the notice allows a representation to the Director (HR) within 15 days.
• Service bond: you must complete training and then serve DTL for at least three years. The bond is INR 5,00,000 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS and INR 2,50,000 for SC/ST/PwBD.
• Technical-cadre seniority: Electrical and Non-Electrical appointees are placed in a 9:1 sequence, maintaining merit order within each stream. Civil appointees have their own merit-based seniority list.
• Delayed absorption: if approved leave or a permitted re-attempt delays your absorption, you retain the seniority assigned by the combined merit list.
• Reservation: your declared category cannot be changed after applying. Delhi OBC rules apply; an outside-Delhi certificate is accepted only under the specific family-certificate and prior-residence conditions in the notice. Creamy-layer applicants must use the general category.
• Application accuracy: DTL will not change details after successful submission. Incorrect or misleading information can result in rejection even after joining.
• Communication: keep your registered email active for at least one year. DTL sends future correspondence by email and does not allow a change to the registered address.
• Recruitment changes: DTL may modify, restrict or cancel the process. Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the NCT of Delhi.
