About This Job

Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) is hiring 9 Deputy Counsel at the High Court of Delhi, S-Block, New Delhi on contract basis. If you are an advocate enrolled with any State Bar Council with at least 3 years post-qualification experience, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 30 May 2026 (5:00 PM). Salary is a consolidated Rs. 1,00,000 per month.

DIAC Deputy Counsel Recruitment 2026 - 9 Posts

Delhi International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), located in S-Block, High Court of Delhi, has released Notification No. 01/2026/DC/DIAC for filling up 9 anticipated Deputy Counsel vacancies arising during 2026 (subject to upward revision). The engagement is purely on contractual basis with an initial term of 6 months, extendable up to 3 years. Only Indian Nationals can apply.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

  • You must be enrolled as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961 with any State Bar Council
  • You should have 3 years post-qualification experience as on 1 May 2026
  • You must be an Indian National (Citizen of India)

Desirable Qualification

  • Diploma or Post Graduation / LL.M. in Arbitration Law / Commercial Law / Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
  • Strong research and analytical skills with good writing ability
  • Working knowledge of legal search engines like Manupatra, SCC Online, Westlaw

Disqualification Grounds

  • Currently employed at DIAC or previously served in the same position
  • Involved in any criminal case (pending or convicted) for moral turpitude
  • Facing disciplinary proceeding before the Bar Council

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 35 years as on 1 May 2026

Salary

  • Consolidated gross amount: Rs. 1,00,000 (One Lakh) per month
  • This is a full-time engagement — you cannot accept any other assignment or practise as an Advocate elsewhere during the term

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on:

  1. Curriculum Vitae (CV) Evaluation: Subject to fulfilling essential qualifications and conditions, candidates will be shortlisted based on their CV.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The schedule will be notified on the DIAC website at dhcdiac.nic.in.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in arbitration proceedings and case management at DIAC
  • Conduct legal research on commercial law, arbitration law and ADR matters
  • Prepare draft orders, awards and procedural documents
  • Maintain absolute secrecy on matters that come to your notice during engagement
  • Use legal search engines (Manupatra, SCC Online, Westlaw) for case research
  • Follow the dress code as provided under Bar Council of India Rules
  • Disclose any conflict of interest in writing immediately upon knowledge
  • Maintain high standards of integrity and impartiality in performance of duties

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Advocate enrolled under the Advocates Act, 1961 with any State Bar Council with 3 years post-qualification experience

Preferred Qualification

Diploma or Post Graduation / LL.M. in Arbitration Law, Commercial Law, or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Required Skills
