About This Job

Apply for 34 multi-post vacancies in DCPU Chengalpattu. Class 8 to postgraduate eligible. Salary: Rs 7,944-33,100. Last date: 31 Aug 2026.

DCPU Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

District Child Protection Unit, Chengalpattu (DCPU) is building a mixed professional and residential-care team for the Government Special Home for Boys in Chengalpattu and the Government Place of Safety at Athur. The engagement is contractual and sits under Tamil Nadu's Department of Children Welfare and Special Services, so the work combines child protection, rehabilitation, education, health support and day-to-day home management. This is one shared recruitment notice covering every listed role at the two institutions.

The team is designed to support children who need structured care and children in conflict with the law. Professional posts handle case work, counselling and administration, while residential staff keep the homes safe, organised and active through teaching, health support, arts, yoga, food service and supervision. You should choose the post that matches your training and submit a separate form if you want to be considered for more than one role.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Assistant Responsibility Officer: coordinates programme documentation, training, capacity building, monitoring and supervision for child-development work.
  • Welfare Officer: supports child-rights case work, social-welfare matters and liaison with government, legal and non-government organisations.
  • Counsellor: provides psychological support, with the role especially suited to someone comfortable working with children in conflict with the law.
  • Store Keeper and Accountant: manages stock, accounts and Tally-based records for the residential institutions.
  • House Parent and Nursing Assistant: cover daily residential care, routine supervision and basic health support.
  • Instructor, Art and Music Teacher, and Yoga Instructor: run learning, creative and well-being activities within the homes.
  • Cook, Night Watchman and House Keeper: keep meals, night security and the living environment running reliably.

Post-wise Duties

Professional and Case-care Posts

You will document cases and programmes, coordinate with partner agencies, counsel children or manage welfare follow-up according to your assigned role. Confidentiality, accurate records and a child-sensitive approach are central to this work because the institutions serve children who may need close support and rehabilitation.

Residential, Education and Support Posts

You will help maintain a stable daily routine through supervision, teaching, creative sessions, yoga, nursing support, cooking, housekeeping or night security. Each support function contributes to a safe residential setting, and you may need to coordinate with welfare staff when a child's care plan affects the daily schedule.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Contract status: every role in this notice is a consolidated-pay contractual engagement rather than a regular civil-service appointment.
  • Institutional setting: your assignment will be connected to the Government Special Home in Chengalpattu or the Government Place of Safety at Athur.
  • Multiple choices: a separate completed application form is needed for each post you choose.
  • Role fit: professional, teaching and technical posts have different training requirements, so check the post-wise row before selecting your form.
  • Child protection: the work takes place in residential child-care institutions and calls for dependable conduct around children and sensitive records.

Application Submission Notes

Send or deliver the completed form with copies of your educational and other supporting certificates to The District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit, Room No. F0-06, Ground Floor, F-Block, New District Collectorate Campus, Chengalpattu 603111. The form can be downloaded from the Chengalpattu district website.

If you apply for several roles, place each role in its own application form. For application queries, the notice gives 6382613173 and 9789422159 as contact numbers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate child-protection records, case follow-up and programme activities for the assigned role
  • Support children through counselling, supervision, teaching or residential care
  • Keep accurate accounts, stock registers, case files or activity records as applicable
  • Run education, art, music, yoga or daily-routine sessions for children
