DCPU Dharmapuri Support Person Recruitment 2026: Overview
District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Dharmapuri is selecting Support Persons to help children affected by sexual offences during investigations and court proceedings. The engagement follows the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Rules, along with the Tamil Nadu Government order cited in the notice. The child's interests, safety and rights guide the work, which connects the child and family with the institutions involved in the case.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Term of engagement: The appointment is for three years. Work is assigned case by case, and the payment arrangement follows the work done on each assigned case from its beginning through completion.
- Case allocation: No honorarium is paid for periods without an assigned case. You should therefore understand this as a case-based support engagement; being appointed does not by itself mean that you receive payment throughout the entire term.
- Child-centred coordination: The arrangement brings together the Police, Child Welfare Committee, DCPU, hospitals, courts and other concerned institutions. Your role sits within this network and must keep the child's protection at the centre of the support provided.
- Individual and organisational participation: The notice allows applications from individuals and organisations engaged in child-protection work that meet its conditions. It does not limit participation to one of these groups.

Responsibilities
- Support children during POCSO investigations and court proceedings
- Coordinate with Police, the Child Welfare Committee, DCPU, hospitals and courts
- Help children access medical care and psychological support
- Connect children with education and rehabilitation services
- Keep children and their families informed about case progress
- Protect the interests, safety and rights of the child throughout the assigned case
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Postgraduate degree related to child welfare, health or education, particularly Social Work, Sociology, Law, Psychology, Child Development or another relevant child-welfare field; alternatively, a graduate degree with at least 3 years of work related to children’s education, development, health or protection.
