DCPU Chengalpattu Support Person Recruitment 2026: Overview

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Chengalpattu is building a panel of Support Persons under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. A Support Person stands beside a child who has gone through a sexual offence and helps that child through the police investigation and the court case. The drive is run by the District Collector, who chairs the DCPU, and the district website calls it an empanelment rather than a regular hiring.

This is case-based work, not a salaried job. You are paid per case you handle, so the role suits social workers, lawyers, psychologists and child-development professionals who want to give part of their time to child protection in Chengalpattu district. Graduates who already have hands-on experience in child education, health or protection can also apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Purely temporary: The engagement is purely temporary and carries no promise of a regular post.
  • Paid per case: The honorarium is fixed for each case and is released in four instalments, not as a monthly salary.
  • Experience route: If you do not hold a postgraduate degree, you need at least three years of work in child education, development, health or protection with your graduation.
  • No second chances on paperwork: Incomplete forms, or forms sent without the supporting documents, are rejected without notice, and the office will not reply to questions about rejections.
