Who Can Apply?

Civil Assistant Surgeon General

• Qualification: You must have passed MBBS or an equivalent qualification included in Schedule I and II of the MCI Act, 1956.
• Registration: You need current valid registration with the A.P. Medical Council.

Local Status

• Local and non-local candidates are eligible as per the government orders mentioned in the notification.
• Study certificates from Class 4 to Class 10 are needed for local status. Private-study candidates need the prescribed residence certificate.

Age Limit

• OC candidates: Should not have completed 42 years as on 01 July 2026.
• EWS / SC / ST / BC candidates: Should not have completed 47 years as on 01 July 2026.
• Differently abled candidates: Should not have completed 52 years as on 01 July 2026.
• Ex-servicemen: 3 years plus length of armed forces service may be deducted as per rules.

Salary

• Civil Assistant Surgeon Specialist: Rs. 1,10,000 per month.
• Civil Assistant Surgeon General: Rs. 61,960 per month.
• The recruitment is purely on contract basis, initially for one year or until posts are filled on regular basis, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit and reservation rules. The notice uses a 100-mark merit calculation.

1. Qualification Marks: 75% of PG Degree/DNB marks and 65% of PG Diploma marks are considered for specialist posts. For CAS General, 75 marks are based on MBBS marks.
2. Foreign University MBBS Marks: Converted grades are used where foreign university marks are not directly available.
3. Years After Qualification: Up to 10 marks can be given at 1 mark per year after the required qualification.
4. Government Contract Service: Up to 15 marks may be given for relevant government contract service, including COVID-19 duty weightage where proper documents are submitted.
5. Document Verification and Counseling: Original certificates and self-attested copies are checked at the walk-in venue. Merit lists may be communicated through WhatsApp or email.
