Professor

  • Qualification and experience as per UGC Regulations 2018 on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers
  • For Food Science & Technology specialization: Master's degree and Ph.D. in Food Technology / Food Science & Technology / Food Processing Technology / Food Processing Engineering
  • For Agribusiness specialization: Master's degree and Ph.D. in Agribusiness

Associate Professor

  • Qualification as per UGC Regulations 2018 and its amendments
  • Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in the relevant field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in teaching/research/industry (at least 2 years post-Ph.D.)
  • At least 6 research publications in UGC-CARE/AICTE approved journals

Assistant Professor

  • Good academic record as per UGC Regulations 2018
  • Must have obtained at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at the Master's level
  • Must have obtained at least 50% marks at the Bachelor's level
  • NET/SLET/SET qualification may be required as per UGC norms

Department-Specific Requirements

  • Physical Education: Additional qualification as per NCTE Regulations 2014
  • AI & Machine Learning: B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch with first class, or equivalent
  • Education (ITEP): As per Appendix-15 of NCTE Amendment Regulations, 2021
  • Biotechnology & Bioinformatics: Candidates must have relevant subjects (Big Data Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Genomics, Structural Biology)

Note: Candidates who obtained a Ph.D. from foreign universities must have an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card holders under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955 are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit

  • Professor: No age bar for regular appointment
  • Associate Professor: No age bar for regular appointment
  • Assistant Professor: No age bar for regular appointment
  • However, the superannuation age for all posts is 64 years as per UGC norms
  • No candidate beyond 64 years will be considered (including retired/superannuated candidates)
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS candidates is applicable for any unreserved post as per government rules — relaxation of marks (10th/12th/Degrees/Diploma/NET etc.) and age will not be given

Salary

  • Professor: Entry pay of Rs. 1,44,200 per month in Academic Pay Level 14 as per 7th CPC
  • Associate Professor: Entry pay of Rs. 1,31,400 per month in Academic Pay Level 13A as per 7th CPC
  • Assistant Professor: Entry pay of Rs. 57,700 per month in Academic Pay Level 10 as per 7th CPC
  • In addition to basic pay, you will get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and other allowances as per central government rules
  • Employees are covered under the National Pension System (NPS)
  • Higher initial pay may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates, as recommended by the selection committee

Application Fee

  • General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 750/- per post
  • SC / ST / PwD / Women: No fee (exempted from application fee)
  • A separate application along with the fee must be filed for each post applied
  • Note: Candidates who previously applied for Assistant Professor and Associate Professor posts in AI & ML department (Advt. No. CUPB/25-26/008 dated 10.11.2025, now withdrawn) are exempted from the application fee but must apply afresh online

Selection Process

  1. API Score Calculation: Your Academic Performance Indicator (API) score will be calculated as per UGC Regulations 2018. For Professors and Associate Professors, fill the API form strictly in the format given in UGC Regulations-2018 at Table 2 of Appendix II. For Assistant Professors, fill the shortlisting criteria format at Table 3A of Appendix II.
  2. Shortlisting: Only 25 candidates for one post and 35 candidates for two posts of the same category will be shortlisted for interview. For posts with Concerned/Relevant/Allied subjects, top 13 from the "Concerned Subject" group and top 12 from the "Relevant/Allied subjects" group will be called.
  3. Presentation/Seminar/Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a presentation, seminar, interview, or a combination of these, conducted by a duly constituted Selection Committee. The interview may be conducted through in-person or video conferencing.
  4. Document Verification: You must produce all original documents at the time of appearing for interview.

Important: Merely meeting the minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call. The University reserves the right to set stringent criteria for shortlisting and to limit the number of candidates called for interview.
