AIIMS Bathinda Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda is building a project team in the Department of Community and Family Medicine. The BFI-BIOME-sponsored study examines whether indoor and outdoor air pollution contributes to worsening coronary artery disease among adults in Punjab. The work combines environmental monitoring, clinical assessment and laboratory investigation, so it offers practical experience across field and research settings.
The team will support a prospective cohort study across two districts of Punjab. If your background is in life science, public health or analytical chemistry, choose the role that matches your field experience. Travel within Punjab is part of the medical and environmental-monitoring work.
Posts and Disciplines
- Technical Assistant: coordinates recruitment, project records, databases, field sampling and communication from the Bathinda side of the study.
- Project Associate-I Medical: handles community and health-facility coordination around Ferozepur, including follow-up, clinical information and biological-sample logistics.
- Project Associate-I Non-Medical: supports ambient and indoor air monitoring, environmental samples, laboratory analysis and movement of sampling equipment.
Post-wise Duties
Technical Assistant
You will connect investigators, field staff, laboratories and participating health facilities while keeping the project database and records accurate. The work also includes reports, presentations, procurement support and preliminary data analysis.
Project Associate-I Medical
You will work with health centres, hospitals and community workers to trace participants and arrange follow-up. Expect community visits, questionnaire work, clinical records and coordination for blood or urine samples.
Project Associate-I Non-Medical
You will help run the air-pollution monitoring programme, from equipment calibration and field logistics to sample labelling, storage and GC-MS/MS analysis. You will also follow study procedures and biosafety rules.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project-linked appointment: Each role is temporary, contractual and co-terminus with the funded study; there is no right to regular appointment.
- Tenure: The notified roles run for either 24 or 27 months, depending on the post, and renewal depends on continuation and funding approval.
- Field travel: Medical and non-medical associates must be willing to travel within Punjab for monitoring, sampling and community work.
- Benefits: No hostel is provided, and no extra benefit is admissible unless the project specifically approves it.
- Funding condition: Payment can be delayed or stopped if the project or release of funds is delayed, suspended or discontinued.
- Interview expense: AIIMS Bathinda does not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.

Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Role-wise: graduate or postgraduate degree in Life Science or Public Health with at least 60% marks for Technical Assistant and Medical Project Associate; M.Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry for Non-Medical Project Associate
Preferred Qualification
Public-health or cohort research, research ethics, biological specimen handling, scientific writing, data software, air monitoring, pesticide-residue method validation, or CSIR/UGC NET-LS, depending on the post
Required Skills
Research coordination, data management, fieldwork, communication, clinical documentation, sample handling, environmental monitoring, or laboratory analysis, depending on the post
