CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO) has released a temporary vacancy notification (Vacancy Number SSP003833/3192-26) for the post of Project Associate-I. The role is purely a short-term, project-based engagement focused on field data collection and data analysis. You should be willing to take part in cruise work on ships and boats. Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• You must have an M.Sc in Marine Science, OR
• M.Sc in Oceanography, OR
• M.Sc in Physical Oceanography, OR
• M.Sc in Space Science and Technology

Desirable

• Knowledge of Python programming

Other Requirements

• You must be ready to frequently participate in cruise onboard ships and boats for field work
• NET/GATE qualification (if any) should be mentioned in the application

Stipend

• Stipend: Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated)
• Duration of engagement: 6 months

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

1. Shortlisting: Applications are screened based on academic qualification and relevance to the job requirements
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal or online interview by the project leader
3. Document Verification: Originals are checked at the time of joining

There is no written exam for this position.
