CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT), Bhubaneswar, is a premier national institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research engaged in multidisciplinary R&D for sustainable development of mineral and material resources. Through Advertisement No. 02/2026, the institute has invited online applications for 7 MTS positions. 10th pass candidates can apply — this is a great entry-level opportunity to join a prestigious CSIR laboratory. Who Can Apply?
- Essential Qualification: You must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) or equivalent from a recognised Board.
- Desirable Qualification: Intermediate (12th Class) Pass.
- Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 25 years old as on 21 April 2026 (the last date of online application).
- You must have been born between 22 April 2001 and 21 April 2008 (both dates inclusive).
- Age Relaxation:
- ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
- PwBD (40% or more disability): 10 years
- PwBD (ST): 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years after deducting actual military service from age
- Widows/Divorced Women (not remarried): Up to 35 years
- Widows/Divorced Women (ST, not remarried): Up to 40 years
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900 per month under Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as per Central Government rules applicable to CSIR.
- Additional benefits include New Pension Scheme, Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, Conveyance Advance, and House Building Advance.
- CSIR employees are also eligible for accommodation under CSIR Residence Allotment Rules (subject to availability).

Selection Process
The selection will be done as per CSIR guidelines. It may include one or more of the following stages:
- Written Examination: OMR or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination. The exam has 150 questions for 450 marks with a time limit of 2 hours. Negative marking applies (1 mark deducted for every wrong answer). Questions will be set in English, Hindi, and Odia (except English Language section).
- Skill Test / Trade Test (if applicable)
- Document Verification
Note: The mode of selection will be notified by CSIR-IMMT in due course. All tests will be conducted in Bhubaneswar.

Responsibilities
- Open and close sections and departments and carry out general cleaning of furniture and equipment
- Receive, distribute, and dispatch Dak (mail) and maintain Dak registers
- Maintain records, files, and registers in administration, finance, accounts, stores, and purchase sections
- Carry files and documents to other sections and departments as required
- Assist with photocopying, delivering Dak inside and outside the institute, and maintaining vouchers
- Receive materials and handle stock entry, stores, and inventory work
- Serve tea and coffee to visitors, officials, and guests during meetings
- Assist with Guest House operations including check-in, check-out, housekeeping, and inventory management
