CSIR-IHBT Project Assistant-II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (CSIR-IHBT), Palampur has announced a walk-in interview for the post of Project Assistant-II (PA-II) under Advertisement No. 07/2026. The position is under the Smart Village (MMP045201) project and is purely temporary, co-terminus with the project or till 31 March 2028, whichever is earlier. This is a great opportunity for Life Science graduates who want hands-on experience in a leading CSIR laboratory in the Himalayas.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: B.Sc. in Life Science from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Desirable Qualification: Work experience in R&D project management, extension, and documentation.
• Note: Candidates whose results are awaited are not eligible to appear for the interview. Your degree must be complete.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on 17 April 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates get 5 years relaxation. OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation, as per Government of India instructions.

Stipend

• Selected candidate will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 20,000 per month + HRA.
• This position does not provide any right or claim for regularization to a permanent post in CSIR.
• No travelling allowance will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process

Selection is through a walk-in interview at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur:

1. Objective Test (if conducted): The Selection Committee may conduct an MCQ-based objective test at its discretion, followed by the interview on the same day.
2. Walk-in Interview: Direct interview at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur (H.P.) on 17 April 2026 at 9:30 AM. Candidates reporting after 10:00 AM will not be allowed to appear.
3. Document Verification: You must bring all original certificates. Without originals, you will not be allowed to sit for the interview.

The number of candidates selected may differ from the advertised vacancy depending on performance during the selection process.
