Central Silk Board (CSB) Sericulture Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Central Silk Board (CSB) is a statutory body established in 1948 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It is the apex national organization for overall development of the silk sector in India. CSB has invited applications for 2 Sericulture Assistant (SA) posts on a contractual basis at its Central Office (CSB-CO) in Bengaluru. Selection will be done purely through personal interview -- there is no written exam. The engagement is for an initial period of one year.

Who Can Apply?

You need one of the following qualifications from a recognised university or institute:

• 3-year full-time degree in Sericulture
• 4-year full-time degree in Sericulture
• 3-year full-time degree + PG Diploma in Sericulture
• 4-year full-time bachelor degree in Agriculture Sciences or Forestry
• 3-year full-time bachelor degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology, Botany, Biology, or Biotechnology) + PG Diploma in Sericulture
• 3-year full-time bachelor degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology, Botany, Biology, or Biotechnology) + 1 year experience in Sericultural project work

Desirable: Work experience in the field of silkworm rearing and grainage (Pre-Cocoon Sector).

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on 13 April 2026 (the closing date of application).

Salary

• You will receive a consolidated salary of Rs. 21,000 per month plus HRA (House Rent Allowance).
• This is a contractual engagement for a period of 1 year.
• This engagement is purely temporary and does not confer any right for regularisation or permanent appointment in CSB.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in a single stage:

1. Personal Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for a personal interview. The date, time, and venue will be sent to your registered email ID.
2. Document Verification: You must bring your original certificates and identity proof at the time of interview for verification.

Note: No TA/DA or lodging/boarding will be provided for attending the interview. You must attend at your own cost.

• Assist Senior Technical Assistants with silkworm rearing and grainage activities at CSB institutes and units
• Handle pre-cocoon sector operations including seed production and quality testing
• Monitor silk moth breeding and maintain records of egg production and hatching rates
• Prepare field reports on sericulture extension activities and farmer training programmes
• Work on silkworm disease management and help implement prevention measures
• Maintain laboratory equipment and keep stock records of supplies and chemicals
• Follow standard operating procedures for quality certification of silk seed
