Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society (CSACS), under the Health Department of UT Chandigarh, has invited applications for 4 contractual posts under the State Implementation Plan of NACO. The contract is on a yearly basis, renewable based on performance. HIV+ candidates are encouraged to apply. The posts include Deputy Director, Assistant Director, Store Officer, and ICTC Counselor.

Who Can Apply?

Deputy Director (SI):

• Qualification: MBBS + MD/DNB in Community Medicine or Epidemiology, OR Master/PG in Public Health, Health Administration, Applied Epidemiology, Demography, Statistics, Population Sciences, Social Sciences or Computer Application from a recognised university
• Experience: 5 years in Public Health (Surveillance, Research, M&E or Epidemiology)
• Working knowledge of MS Office, SPSS, and biostatistics

Assistant Director (CSS & GIPA):

• Qualification: Graduate from a reputed institution
• Experience: 3 years in HIV-related matters (preference for PLHIVs and community representatives)

Store Officer:

• Qualification: Graduate
• Experience: 3 to 5 years in store management and inventory control with strong computer skills

ICTC Counselor:

• Qualification: Graduate in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Development or Nursing with 3 years of counseling experience under a National Health Programme, OR a Post-Graduate in any of these subjects
• Special note: If you are a Person Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV), only 1 year of counseling experience is required

Preference will be given to local candidates with knowledge of Hindi and Punjabi.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 60 years as on the last date of application
• Standard age relaxation rules apply for reserved categories

Salary

• Deputy Director (SI): Rs. 50,680 per month
• Assistant Director (CSS & GIPA): Rs. 35,000 per month
• Store Officer: Rs. 35,000 per month
• ICTC Counselor: Rs. 21,000 per month
• The salary is consolidated — no other allowance is admissible. Annual raise will be given as per NACO guidelines

Selection Process

The selection will be done in different ways depending on the post:

1. Deputy Director, Assistant Director and Store Officer: Selection through Written Exam followed by Interview
2. ICTC Counselor: Selection through Written Exam only
3. Document Verification: Original certificates will be checked at the time of the written test
4. Probation: The first 3 months will be a probation period — unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test or interview.

• Plan and monitor HIV/AIDS surveillance, research and epidemiology activities under NACO guidelines
• Coordinate with state and central health authorities on AIDS control programmes
• Manage stores, inventory and logistics for the AIDS Control Society
• Provide counseling and education to clients at Integrated Counseling and Testing Centres (ICTCs)
• Engage with PLHIV (People Living with HIV) communities and stakeholders
• Prepare reports, data analysis and field visit summaries for review
• Ensure compliance with National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) protocols
