The Office of the Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer, Seraikela-Kharsawan (CS CMO Seraikela) is engaging General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) for Sadar Hospital, Seraikela. The recruitment supports efforts to improve access to health services in the district’s mining-affected areas, with funding from the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT). You would join through a need-based contract for hospital medical services.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The contract runs for one year from your joining date. Any further extension depends on assessment of your work and approval at the relevant level.
• Contract status: The engagement is entirely contractual and based on service needs. It does not create a right to regular appointment in the future.
• Service agreement: The controlling officer will execute a contract agreement with the selected doctor. Your work must follow the role’s terms of reference and the health service’s needs.
• Fixed posting: Sadar Hospital, Seraikela is the place of work. The allotted posting is non-transferable, and requests for transfer or deputation will not be accepted under these terms.
• Private practice: Private practice is prohibited within a radius of 2 kilometres of the hospital or health centre. Consider this restriction when deciding whether the engagement fits your existing practice.
• Leave: Leave follows the rules applicable under the National Health Mission in Jharkhand. The notification ties this benefit to those rules.
• Work assessment: The Deputy Superintendent of Sadar Hospital will assess your work against the assigned duties. The Civil Surgeon will confirm that assessment.
• Leaving service: You must give three months’ advance notice. If you leave without that notice, the terms allow separation on payment of three months’ honorarium.
• Termination authority: The Civil Surgeon can decide on ending the service. Unsatisfactory work or obstruction of government duties can also lead to termination of the engagement.
• Accuracy and conduct: A criminal conviction or false information or certificates can automatically end the appointment. The notice also allows recovery of paid honorarium under the applicable rules.
• Joining window: You must join within 21 days of issue of the appointment letter and report your joining to the district Civil Surgeon.
• Payment and travel: Payment starts from the date your joining at the posting is accepted. Travel allowance for joining the assigned place is not payable.
