Cotton University has released a notification for 1 Field Investigator post under an ICSSR (Indian Council of Social Science Research) funded major research project titled "Preserving the Silent Chronicles of Assam: Collection and Archiving of Non-commercial Magazines from 1947 to 2000." The project is led by Dr. Prasun Barman (Department of Bengali) as Project Director and Dr. Payal Jain (Department of English) as Co-Project Director. This is a good opportunity for social science postgraduates from Assam who want field research experience in archiving and cultural documentation, with a preference for candidates fluent in English and Assamese.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduate (PG) degree in any Social Sciences discipline with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Desirable: Command over English and Assamese (oral and written), basic computer skills, and prior field work experience in social science projects.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for this post. Selection is based on:

1. Interview: The venue and date will be notified later. Only shortlisted candidates will be intimated by email.

The decision of the Selection Committee is final. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and the selected candidate must join immediately.

• Prepare field reports and update project records regularly
• Coordinate with local contacts, publishers, and libraries during collection drives
• Support the Project Director and Co-Project Director in day-to-day project activities
