Collector Office Dhule Legal Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Collector Office, Dhule has released an advertisement to fill 1 post of Legal Officer on a contract basis for a period of 11 months, as per government resolutions of the Revenue and Forest Department. District administrations regularly deal with litigation on revenue, land, and service matters in courts ranging from the District Court to the High Court and Supreme Court, and need an in-house legal expert to manage this workload. The contract can be renewed up to 3 times of 11 months each, so an experienced legal professional could work with the district administration for close to 3 years in total. After the third renewal, if the competent authority feels your services are still needed, you will have to go through the selection process again rather than getting an automatic extension. This is a good opportunity for a practicing advocate who wants to handle government litigation and legal advisory work at the district level.

Note: This is a purely contractual engagement. Selection through this process does not give you any right to future absorption into permanent government service, and requests for such absorption will not be considered.

This recruitment is issued under reference number Mah Shakha-B/Kaksha-1/Aastha-3/154/2026 by the Establishment Branch (Sankalan 3) of the Collector Office, Dhule. For any queries, you can reach the office at est.dhule@gmail.com or 02562-288711/12/13.

  • Experience: You need at least 7 years of experience in legal practice as an advocate, as on the date of this advertisement.

  • Conduct: You should not have any criminal case or proceeding registered against you.

  • No other allowances (DA, HRA, etc.) will be paid apart from this consolidated amount.

Selection Process

Based on the number of applications received, the District Selection Committee will decide the selection method:

  1. Document Verification: Your application and certificates will be checked against the eligibility conditions.
  2. Written Test and/or Interview: Depending on how many eligible candidates apply, you may need to appear for a written test, a direct interview, or both.

Before the test or interview, the Collector Office will publish a list of eligible and ineligible candidates based on the applications received. If your name is missing or you believe there is an error in your eligibility status, you can submit a written objection in person at the Collector Office within the notified window. The office will then publish a corrected list after resolving objections, and only after that will it announce the schedule for the written test or interview on its notice board and website.

The final selection is made by the District Selection Committee, with the Collector, Dhule as the appointing authority. If your work as Legal Officer is found unsatisfactory, your contractual appointment can be terminated without prior notice, and you will not be treated as a government employee even after appointment.
