Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Assistant Commandant (Fire) Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Directorate General, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has issued an office memorandum to fill 2 vacant posts of Assistant Commandant (Fire) on a deputation basis. This is a Group 'A' Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in the General Central Service. The deputation period is 3 years, and CISF is looking for experienced officers currently working in fire safety or related departments of the government.

Deputation basis means you will move temporarily from your current department to CISF for the assignment period, and can return to your parent department once the deputation ends. CISF is a Central Armed Police Force that guards sensitive government and industrial installations across the country, and its fire wing plays a key role in preventing and handling fire emergencies at these sites. If you are an in-service officer looking for a challenging assignment in this field, this is worth applying for.

The vacancy has also been circulated to all central government ministries and departments, state governments, union territories, other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and the UPSC — so eligible officers from any of these channels can apply through their proper channel.

Who Can Apply?

  • Eligibility: You must be an officer of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territory, Public Sector Undertaking, Semi-Government body, Statutory or Autonomous Organisation, Municipal body, or a government-recognised University/Research Centre.
  • Service Condition 1: You should be holding an analogous post on a regular basis in your parent cadre or department.
  • Service Condition 2 (OR): You should have 2 years of regular service in Pay Level-8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100) or an equivalent grade in your parent department.
  • Service Condition 3 (OR): You should have 3 years of regular service in the next lower feeder grade, as specified in the official memorandum.
  • Departmental officers who are in the direct line of promotion for this post are not eligible to apply on deputation, and deputationists cannot be considered for appointment by promotion.
  • Relaxation for SC/ST candidates: The experience requirement can be relaxed at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for SC/ST candidates, if enough eligible candidates from these communities are not otherwise available.

Age Limit

  • Your age should not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Salary

  • Selected officers will get a salary of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month under Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (equivalent to the earlier Pay Band-3 of Rs. 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs. 5,400).
