Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA) Process Writer Recruitment 2026 - 54 Posts

The Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA), Bilaspur, together with the Law and Legislative Affairs Department, has announced a joint recruitment exam (LAG26) for 54 Assistant Grade-3/Process Writer posts. The exam is being conducted by CGSSB, which used to be called CG Vyapam. This is a direct recruitment to Class III posts with 24 unreserved, 7 SC, 15 ST and 8 OBC vacancies, plus internal reservation for women, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities within these numbers. Only local residents of Chhattisgarh can apply for this recruitment. CGSLSA runs the state's free legal aid programme, Lok Adalats and legal literacy camps, and a Process Writer supports this work by handling case papers, typing legal and administrative documents, and maintaining office records for the Authority and the Law and Legislative Affairs Department. If you are a 12th-pass candidate with good typing and computer skills, this is a solid opportunity to get into a stable state government job, with a 3-year probation period leading to a regular post.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have passed Higher Secondary (10+2) from a recognized board. Or, if you passed under the old Higher Secondary pattern, you need the first year of a graduation course from a recognized university.
  • Additional Qualification: You also need a one-year diploma or certificate in Programming or Data Entry Operator from a recognized institution.
  • Typing Certificate: You must have a Hindi/English typing certificate for a speed of 5,000 key depressions per hour (computer/software based), issued by a recognized board or the Chhattisgarh Shorthand and Typing Exam Board. Your typing speed will be tested again in the skill exam.
  • Domicile: Only local residents of Chhattisgarh are eligible to apply for these posts.
  • This combination of qualifications is needed because the job involves preparing and typing legal and administrative documents in both Hindi and English on a daily basis.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 January 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: SC, ST and OBC candidates get 5 extra years. Women who are local residents of Chhattisgarh get 10 extra years. Government employees get 5 extra years.
  • Even after adding all applicable relaxations together, your age cannot exceed 45 years.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000 per month under Pay Level 4 of the Chhattisgarh government pay matrix.
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Chhattisgarh government rules.

Application Fee

  • You need to pay the application fee online while filling the form. The exact fee amount by category is available on the CGSSB website.
  • Fee Refund: If you are a local resident of Chhattisgarh and you actually appear for the written exam, your application fee will be refunded to the same bank account you used to pay.
  • Keep your payment receipt safe — the refund is processed only for candidates who actually appear at the exam centre, not for every applicant.

Selection Process

Your selection will be done in 2 stages:

  1. Written Exam: A multiple-choice (MCQ) exam decides your final merit. Around 5 times the vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the next stage based on written exam marks.
  2. Skill Test (Typing): A qualifying-only Hindi typing test — you get 250 words to type in 15 minutes with at least 75% accuracy. Marks from this stage are not added to your final merit list.

After the skill test, selected candidates go through police verification and a medical fitness check by the District Medical Board before their appointment is confirmed. Selected candidates are appointed on a 3-year probation period.
