The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has released Advertisement No. 01/2026/Exam dated 21 April 2026 for the Assistant Librarian Examination - 2026. Recruitment is for 7 Class-II Gazetted posts of Assistant Librarian under the Hon'ble High Court of Chhattisgarh. Online applications open from 24 April 2026 (12:00 PM) and close on 23 May 2026 (11:59 PM). The selection is governed by SLP (C) No. 19668/2022 final order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court — vacancies may be revised based on revised demand from the High Court.

Who Can Apply?

• Educational Qualification: Master's Degree (Postgraduate) in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognised University
• Probation Period: Selected candidates will be on probation for 3 years
• Service Class: Class-II Gazetted post
• You must hold the qualification certificate by the last date of online application. Documents need not be uploaded with the form but must be produced at interview.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 years and 30 years as on 01 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation:
  • Local residents of Chhattisgarh (men): up to 40 years (10 years relaxation)
  • SC / ST / OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) of Chhattisgarh: 5 years
  • Local women residents of Chhattisgarh: 10 years
  • Permanent / temporary CG Government employees: 5 years
  • Maximum age including all relaxations: 45 years
• PwBD certification required for disability-based concessions (Form-1 from Chief Medical Officer).

Salary

• Pay Matrix: Rs. 43,200 - Rs. 1,36,500 (Level-10) per month
• Plus Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances as per Government of Chhattisgarh rules
• Class-II Gazetted post under Hon'ble High Court of Chhattisgarh

Application Fee

• Local residents of Chhattisgarh (SC / ST / OBC Non-Creamy Layer / PwBD): Rs. 300
• All other candidates (Unreserved + Out-of-State): Rs. 400
• Plus Portal Fee + GST as applicable, payable online
• Local CG residents who appear at the exam / interview will get the exam fee refunded to the bank account they entered during application.
• Correction window fee: Rs. 500 per correction (free correction window opens later — only DOB / gender / category / domicile / disability changes allowed)

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Preliminary Examination: Tentatively scheduled for 26 July 2026. OMR-based screening test.
2. Main Examination: Detailed exam scheme is given in Appendix 'A' and 'B' of the official notification.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview based on Mains marks.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates verified before interview.

Final merit and ranking will be prepared based on combined performance in Main Examination and Interview.

5. Pay the application fee online (along with portal fee and GST).
6. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
7. Free correction window: 24 May 2026 (12:00 PM) to 26 May 2026 (11:59 PM) (one chance only).
8. Paid correction window (Rs. 500): 27 May 2026 (12:00 PM) to 29 May 2026 (11:59 PM).
