CBI Deputy Advisor (Engineering)/Civil Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which works as the Delhi Special Police Establishment, has issued a vacancy circular from its Administration Division at CGO Complex, New Delhi to fill the post of Dy. Advisor (Engineering)/Civil on deputation. This is a General Central Service, Group 'A' Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) post, and the agency is looking for a serving civil engineer who can read a building estimate the way an investigator reads a file. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation only: As per the Recruitment Rules for Dy. Advisor (Engineering)/Civil, private persons are not eligible for the post. You must come from a government cadre and be sparable immediately if selected.
• Terms of deputation: pay and conditions follow DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17 June 2010, as amended from time to time.
• Length of the stint: the deputation, counting any ex-cadre post you held immediately before this one in the same or another Central Government organisation, shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
• No backing out: once you apply you cannot withdraw your candidature. A selected officer who refuses to join is debarred from any deputation in the Government of India for the combined period of deputation and cooling off.
• Rolling consideration: this is an open vacancy circular, so applications are taken up quarter by quarter rather than in one single batch.
• Clearances first: the application only counts if it is routed through proper channel and carries cadre clearance, vigilance and integrity clearance and the penalty statement from your employer.
