The unit works under the Department of Health Research, Government of India, at the medical college in Odisha. This is a contractual research-unit appointment, with the length of the engagement linked to performance and project funding.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial appointment is for 364 days. The college may shorten or extend the engagement depending on your performance and the funds available for the project.
• Regular appointment: Your temporary contract does not give you a claim to regularisation or a regular post at BBMCH.
• Ending the contract: Either you or the college can end the appointment with one month's notice, without having to give a reason.
• Leave: Your leave will follow the institution's policy.
• Panel validity: The recruitment panel remains valid for one year from approval. The highest-ranked candidate will receive the appointment offer, while the remaining shortlisted panel members stay on the panel.
• Communication: Shortlisting information will be sent by email or posted on the college website. The appointment letter will go to the selected candidate's registered email address.
• Travel expenses: The college will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You need to arrange and pay for your own visit.
