Auniati University, established by an Act of the Government of Assam and recognized under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, has released an employment notification to fill 22 Assistant Professor posts across 13 departments through a Walk-in Interview. The vacancies span subjects from Assamese and Economics to Performing Arts and Physical Education, with reserved posts for OBC, SC and ST candidates in several departments. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must meet the qualifications prescribed under applicable UGC norms for appointment as Assistant Professor in your subject.
• Preferred Qualification: A Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline is preferred; candidates pursuing a Ph.D. may also be considered based on academic merit.
• Experience: Preference goes to candidates with at least 1 year of teaching experience at the university level, or 5 years at a recognized college.
• Reservation: Reservation applies only to posts specifically earmarked for OBC, SC and ST candidates — you must produce a valid category certificate if claiming reservation. EWS and PwD reservations apply only to candidates from the General category.

Salary

• Selected candidates will receive remuneration as per the Rules, Regulations and decisions of Auniati University — the exact pay scale is not disclosed in the notification.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Screening on Academic Qualifications and Credentials: Your degrees, publications and experience certificates are assessed.
2. Personal Interview: Conducted before the Selection Committee on your scheduled date.
3. Teaching Demonstration (Demo Class): You must deliver a demo class of at least 5 minutes in front of the Selection Committee — this counts as part of your evaluation.

The walk-in interview schedule runs across three days: 28 July 2026 (Geography, Folklore, Performing Arts, Economics), 29 July 2026 (Assamese, English, Library and Information Science, History), and 30 July 2026 (Sociology, Rural Development, Political Science, Education, Physical Education and Sports). Check the official notification for your subject's exact reporting time and interview slot. No separate call letter will be issued, and no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
