The High Court of Andhra Pradesh (APHC), Amaravati has issued Notification No. 02/2026/Estt. dated 20 March 2026 for filling 32 posts of Court Master and Personal Secretary to the Hon'ble Judges and Registrars. Of these, 20 posts are through Direct Recruitment and 12 posts are filled by transfer from existing employees in the High Court, District Judiciary, or other offices under the High Court's control. This is a rare opening in the Andhra Pradesh High Court establishment — a highly respected posting with excellent job security and a structured pay scale.

Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- Degree: You need a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, Commerce, or Law (3-year or 5-year course) from a recognised university or institution approved by UGC.
- Shorthand (Primary): Pass in English Shorthand examination with 180 words per minute (wpm) conducted by the State Board of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh, or an equivalent qualification.
- Shorthand (Alternative): Candidates with 150 wpm shorthand speed can also apply, but their applications will be considered only if enough 180 wpm candidates are not available.
- Typewriting: Pass in Typewriting Higher Grade examination in English at a speed of 45 words per minute, conducted by the State Board of Technical Education or equivalent.
- Computer Skills: Preference will be given to candidates with computer skills.
Other Requirements
- You must be a citizen of India.
- You must be of good character and free from any infirmity that makes you unfit for the post.
- You must not have been dismissed from service by any High Court, Government, or statutory body.
- If you are currently employed somewhere, you need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 42 years

- Age Relaxation:

Salary
- Starting salary: Rs. 57,100 per month
- Time scale of pay: Rs. 57,100 — 1,47,760 (structured increment scale)
- Plus DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Andhra Pradesh State Government rules

Selection Process
Selection will be done in the following stages:
- Written Examination (Shorthand Test): A shorthand test in English will be conducted for 100 marks. Candidates with 180 wpm shorthand speed will be given a dictation for 3 minutes, with a transcription time of 40 minutes on computers. Candidates with 150 wpm speed will get dictation for 4 minutes, with transcription time of 45 minutes.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce all original certificates on the date notified by the High Court.
The exam date will be published on the official website of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and communicated via Hall-Ticket by post. Results will also be uploaded on the official website.

- Download the prescribed application proforma and Hall-Ticket from the official notification available at aphc.gov.in.
- Fill in the application form carefully after reading all instructions in the notification.
- Attach three recent passport-size colour photographs (one pasted on the application, two on the Hall-Ticket original and duplicate), attested by a Gazetted Officer.
- Attach self-attested copies of all required documents (SSC certificate, Degree, Shorthand certificate, Typewriting certificate, caste/EWS/disability certificate if applicable, NOC if employed).
- Attach the Demand Draft for the examination fee.
- Write "Application for the post of Court Master and Personal Secretary to the Hon'ble Judges and Registrars" on the envelope.

Responsibilities
- Take shorthand dictation from Hon'ble Judges and Registrars at high speed (180 wpm)
- Transcribe shorthand notes accurately and prepare judgments, orders, and official correspondence on computers
- Maintain and manage confidential files, case records, and correspondence of the assigned Judge or Registrar
- Coordinate scheduling, hearings, and appointments for the Judge or Registrar
- Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and ensure timely dispatch of official documents
- Prepare reports, summaries, and briefing notes as directed by the assigned Judge or Registrar
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding court proceedings, judgments, and administrative matters

The selection exam is a Shorthand Transcription Test carried out on computers, for 100 marks.
