ANGRAU has issued a revised notification to engage 1 Research Associate under the GKMS (Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa) unit at the Agro-Meteorological Field Unit (AMFU), Regional Agricultural Research Station, Chintapalle. The position is funded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Government of India, and is purely temporary and contractual for a period of 11 months. GKMS is IMD's district-level agromet advisory scheme, and an AMFU Research Associate works on turning weather forecasts into practical, farmer-friendly crop advisories for the district. No online application is needed — eligible candidates simply attend the walk-in interview with their documents. This role suits agricultural science postgraduates interested in weather-based agro-advisory research.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduation in Agro-Meteorology from an ICAR-accredited university. If candidates with Agro-Meteorology qualifications are not available, postgraduates in Agronomy, Meteorology or Agriculture Physics will also be considered.
• Desirable: Knowledge or experience in meteorological data processing, field data interpretation, agricultural knowledge, remote sensing, crop simulation modeling and computer skills (including English and Telugu typing and statistical software).
• Language: Reading and writing in the local language is compulsory.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection happens on the day of the walk-in interview itself:

1. Screening: You will be screened based on the qualifications and bio-data you bring to the walk-in interview.
2. Interview: The selection committee's decision is final and binding. Only candidates who fulfil the essential qualification need attend.

How to Apply

1. Prepare an application on plain paper with your bio-data, a passport-size photograph, and the names and addresses of two references.
2. Attach attested photocopies of your supporting documents (qualification certificates, ID proof) and a No Objection Certificate if you are currently employed.
3. Report at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Chintapalle, Alluri Sitharama Raju District, AP-531111 at 10:00 AM on 12 August 2026 for screening and interview.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Other Terms & Conditions

• This is a purely temporary and contractual engagement — you will have no claim for a regular appointment or further continuation once the 11-month period ends.
• You can leave the contract early by giving one month's notice; the university can also terminate the engagement at any time without notice or reason.
• Concealing facts or canvassing in any form will disqualify your candidature, even after engagement.
• The decision of the selection committee is final and binding in all respects, and no further correspondence will be entertained.
• The Associate Director of Research reserves the right to cancel or postpone the interview if an unavoidable situation arises.
