Who Can Apply?
Essential for Medical Candidates (General Discipline)
- A medical qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or recognised equivalent in the respective discipline.
- Experience: Three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognised institution after MD/MS.
Essential for Super Specialty Discipline
- Medical qualification under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- MD/MS in the relevant discipline.
- DM in the respective medical super-specialty or MCh in the surgical super-specialty (2/3/5/6 years recognised course).
- Experience: One year teaching/research experience after DM/MCh, OR no experience needed for candidates with 3-year post MD/MS DM or 6-year post MBBS MCh degree.
Relaxation of one year teaching/research experience is given to SC and ST candidates as per DoP&T rules.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 50 years as on the closing date (4 June 2026).
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years. OBC: 3 years. PwBD: 10 years. Government Servants: 5 years. Ex-Servicemen: 5 years.
- No age relaxation available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.
Salary
- Consolidated monthly remuneration: Rs. 1,42,506 per month.
- The remuneration is all-inclusive and subject to TDS and other statutory deductions.
- Contractual faculty are entitled to 28 days leave during the 11-month contract period.
- TA/DA payable when deputed out of station for official work.
- Private practice of any kind is prohibited.

Selection is based purely on interview:

Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) students in the assigned department
- Provide clinical care to patients in OPDs, wards, ICUs and emergency at AIIMS Rajkot
- Guide PG residents and supervise their thesis, dissertations and research work
- Conduct independent and collaborative research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Participate in academic activities — seminars, journal clubs, CMEs and conferences
- Serve at rural and urban health centres attached to the institute as required
- Handle administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department or Executive Director
- Follow CCS Conduct Rules 1964 and AIIMS Rajkot Code of Conduct at all times

Minimum Qualification
MBBS recognised under the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 plus MD/MS in the respective discipline (general); plus DM/MCh for super specialty disciplines
Preferred Qualification
