AIIMS Mangalagiri INHIBIT Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Mangalagiri is building a mixed research and clinical-support team for the INHIBIT Study in its Department of Clinical Microbiology and Integrated Stewardship Laboratory. The study is an ICMR-funded extramural project under the Department of Health Research and focuses on laboratory microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship and patient-outcome work. This recruitment brings scientific leadership, bench-level technical support and clinical nursing data together in one project team. Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): A research-facing role built around clinical bacteriology, antimicrobial susceptibility work, quality control and linking laboratory findings with clinical data.
• Project Technical Support-II: A hands-on laboratory role covering microbiological media, antibiotic stocks, bacterial strains, equipment and study supplies.
• Project Nurse-III: A patient-facing study role focused on clinical information, antimicrobial-use review, follow-up and bedside stewardship support.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)

You will identify project bacterial isolates, run antimicrobial susceptibility and MIC testing, maintain control strains and connect laboratory results with clinical records. You will also support quality control, consumable planning and the research documentation needed by the principal investigator.

Project Technical Support-II

You will prepare and process MIC strips, antibiotic stocks and microbiological media using validated study procedures. The role also covers strain preservation, lot verification, equipment upkeep, inventory work and technical support for participating centres.

Project Nurse-III

You will maintain clinical and study data, assess defined patient outcomes and help audit antimicrobial prescriptions and consumption. You will support follow-up, record therapy and stay information, and help with supervised bedside education and coordination.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project appointment: Every position is purely temporary and contractual. The first engagement can run for up to one year and may be extended only when performance, project need, funds and ICMR rules allow.
• No regular claim: Appointment to the study does not create a right to regular absorption in AIIMS Mangalagiri, ICMR, the Department of Health Research or another government organisation.
• Cumulative tenure: Under the cited ICMR rule, total service across project-staff appointments cannot exceed five years, with or without a break.
• Work schedule: Selected staff may be asked to work on Sundays, holidays or during urgent project and laboratory needs after suitable induction or training.
• Travel support: No TA or DA is payable for attending the test, skill assessment or interview, and you need to arrange your own stay if the schedule runs longer.
• Performance increment: ICMR norms allow a five-percent increase in initial pay after every two completed years, subject to performance review and continued engagement.
• Project flexibility: A vacant sanctioned position may be downgraded only with the required institute approval and intimation to ICMR.
