AAU Assistant Professor Advt 4 2026 — 60 Vacancies

AAU Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026: Overview

Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is recruiting Assistant Professor and equivalent staff under its Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Community Science. Advertisement 4/2026 brings agricultural, technical and community-science disciplines into the same university recruitment. The notice is issued from the Registrar’s office in Jorhat and limits applications to permanent residents of Assam.

Posts and Disciplines

• Crop and soil disciplines: The Agriculture faculty includes Soil Science, Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Genetics, and Seed Science and Technology.
• Horticulture: The notice distinguishes Fruit Science, Vegetable Science, Floriculture and Post Harvest Management. Treat your specialisation as part of the particular post you are considering.
• Plant protection: Entomology, Nematology and Plant Pathology appear as separate Agriculture disciplines.
• Food and biological sciences: Agriculture entries include Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, and Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
• Agricultural management and extension: Agricultural Economics, Agri Business Management and Agri Extension Education are listed separately.
• Technical disciplines: Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Statistics, Agro-meteorology and Computer Science also sit within the Agriculture faculty for this drive.
• Tea and sericulture: Tea Husbandry and Technology is listed alongside specialised Sericulture entries covering Cocoon Crop Production, Host Plant Production, Crop Improvement and Silk Product Science.
• Community Science: This faculty covers Extension Education and Communication Management, Human Development and Family Studies, Apparel and Textile Science, Food and Nutrition, and Resource Management and Consumer Science.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Assam residence: You must be a permanent resident of Assam to apply under the university service rules stated in this advertisement. The notice also specifies Indian citizenship.
• Faculty-wise reservation: AAU gives separate reservation allocations for Agriculture and Community Science, including entries reserved for women. Read the faculty allocation relevant to your chosen discipline rather than treating the whole recruitment as one interchangeable pool.
• Equivalent posts: The advertisement uses the rank of Assistant Professor and equivalent across the listed disciplines. It does not give a separate campus allocation for every opening, so the Registrar’s Jorhat address should not be read as a guarantee of a Jorhat posting.
