Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI), University of Delhi has released notification for 7 Project Research Scientist and Project Technical Support posts under an ICMR project. Candidates with PG in Life Science or related fields can apply by email. Last date to apply is 12 March 2026. Age limit is 28 to 45 years depending on the post.

VPCI Delhi ICMR Project Research Scientist Recruitment 2026

Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute (VPCI), University of Delhi is hiring research and technical staff for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project on drug-resistant pathogens. This project is led by Prof. Anuradha Chowdhary. A total of 7 posts are open on a contract basis.

These are temporary positions for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years based on the project tenure. There is no application fee.

Salary Details

All posts get an additional 30% HRA on top of the base salary.

  • PRS-III: Rs. 78,000 per month + 30% HRA
  • PRS-II (both posts): Rs. 67,000 per month + 30% HRA
  • PRS-I: Rs. 56,000 per month + 30% HRA
  • PTS-III: Rs. 28,000 per month + 30% HRA
  • PTS-I: Rs. 18,000 per month + 30% HRA

Who Can Apply

PRS-III (Age limit: 45 years)

  • Postgraduate degree in Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics
  • At least 5 years of research experience, OR PhD with 2 years of experience

PRS-II and PRS-II Bioinformatics (Age limit: 40 years)

  • Postgraduate degree in Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics
  • At least 3 years of research experience, OR PhD degree

PRS-I (Age limit: 35 years)

  • Postgraduate degree in Life Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or Bioinformatics
  • No prior experience needed

PTS-III (Age limit: 35 years)

  • Graduate degree in Life Science
  • At least 3 years of lab or technical experience, OR Postgraduate degree

PTS-I (Age limit: 28 years)

  • 10th pass with a relevant Diploma, OR Graduate degree
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience

  • Prepare and submit progress reports as required by the Principal Investigator
  • Follow laboratory safety protocols and institutional guidelines at all times
  • Support senior scientists in designing and executing experiments
  • Assist in writing research papers, reports, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with other team members and departments for smooth project execution
