UU RUSA Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
Utkal University (UU) is engaging research staff for its Research and Development Cell and Centres of Excellence under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) 2.0. The work sits within the university's R&D CF Sustainability Grants at Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. These are project-linked contractual engagements, with each appointment attached to the relevant centre or the R&D Cell.
Posts and Disciplines
- Environment Studies, Climate Change and Public Health: Research Assistant roles cover life sciences and the centre's environment, public-health and related disciplines.
- Public Policy and Governance: Research Associate, Research Assistant and Field Investigator roles belong to the same centre, with separate applications needed for different posts.
- North-East India Studies: Research Assistant and Field Investigator engagements cover social sciences and humanities. The field assignments include sites in Odisha and North-East India.
- Global Centre of Rural Studies: Research Assistant and Field Investigator roles are attached to the centre's social-science research.
- Study of Unorganized Labour: Research Assistant and Field Investigator posts fall within the labour-focused centre.
- Language, Literature and Culture: Research Assistant and Field Investigator roles cover this centre's humanities and social-science disciplines.
- High Energy and Condensed Matter Physics: Research Associate and Research Assistant engagements are attached to the physics centre.

Service Conditions and Caveats
- Nature of appointment: These engagements are temporary and contractual, and apply only to the concerned RUSA centre or R&D Cell.
- Centre-specific tenure: Environment Studies and Rural Studies appointments run for six months. Public Policy engagements run for three months for the Associate and Field Investigators, and six months for the Assistant.
- Other tenure terms: North-East India Studies appointments run for six months for the Assistant and three months for Field Investigators. Unorganized Labour appointments run for five months for the Assistant and two months for Field Investigators. Language, Literature and Culture and Physics engagements run for five months; the Coordinator engagement runs for six months.
- Funding conditions: The approved research plan, available funding and university rules govern each engagement.
- Travel costs: You will not receive travel or daily allowance for attending the selection committee or joining your first appointment.
- Recruitment safeguards: Incomplete applications can be rejected, and canvassing can disqualify you. The university may amend or cancel the advertised conditions.

Write the post and centre on the envelope using the notice's format: APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF _____________ IN THE COE IN ___________________ (Name of the COE) UNDER RUSA-2.0 COE / R&D CELL.
You may also email a soft copy to director.rd.uu@gmail.com; the notice still calls for the postal application. Apply separately for different posts, and use your correct email address and phone number because the university will contact shortlisted applicants through those channels.

Relevant graduation with at least 55% for Field Investigator posts; relevant postgraduate degree with at least 55% for Research Assistant posts; relevant postgraduate degree with at least 55%, NET/Ph.D. and two years of research experience for Research Associate posts; master degree in any discipline with at least 55% for Research-cum-Academic Coordinator.
