UoH JRF / Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026: Overview
The University of Hyderabad (UoH) is filling Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate-I positions at its Centre for Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (CEOAS) in the School of Physics. The positions belong to a research project sponsored by CHESS, DRDO Hyderabad, titled "Understanding and Predicting Marine Atmospheric optical turbulence characteristics in and above boundary layer over North Indian Ocean", led by Principal Investigator Prof. Sreenivas Pentakota. This is a temporary project engagement, not a regular university job.
The project studies how the marine atmospheric boundary layer and turbulence behave over the North Indian Ocean, so it suits you if you have a master's in ocean, atmospheric or meteorological sciences and like working with satellite and in-situ weather and ocean data. Hands-on coding in Python, MATLAB, Fortran or C on Linux, and tools such as GrADS, NCL, Ferret or CDO, will strengthen your application.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tenure: The project runs for two years. You are first engaged for six months, and the position is extended every six months based on your progress and review, until the project ends.
- Temporary nature: The appointment is purely temporary and gives you no claim to a regular post at the University.
- Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.
- DST norms: Besides the essential qualification, you must meet the other conditions in DST O.M. No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26 June 2023 issued by the Department of Science and Technology.
- Online interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed online over Google Meet or Zoom; the link is shared only with those shortlisted, and the University's selection decision is final.
