UOC Instructor Electrical Engineering Recruitment 2026: Overview
University of Calicut (UOC) is arranging a walk-in for an Instructor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at its Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET). The engagement is on a temporary daily-wage basis against an anticipated opening. It covers a leave or existing vacancy among the institute’s contract staff.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Limited tenure: You can be engaged for up to 179 days, but the actual period can be shorter. The notice links continuation to the vacancy for which you are engaged.
- Fresh contract appointment: Your daily-wage engagement ends if a fresh appointment on contract is made against that vacancy before the stated period is over. The maximum period therefore does not guarantee that length of work.
- Return from leave: If the opening is a leave vacancy, the engagement also ends when the regular incumbent for that vacancy returns to duty. Of these end conditions, whichever happens first applies.
- Anticipated opening: The notice describes the vacancy as anticipated. Keep that distinction in mind when considering the walk-in and the temporary nature of the work.
- Institute discretion: IET retains the right to change the qualification cut-off used to call applicants for interview. Your participation is governed by the conditions in this notification.
