TMC Ad-hoc Medical Officer Haemato-pathology Recruitment 2026: Overview

Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is filling an Ad-hoc Medical Officer (Haemato-pathology) post at its Varanasi unit — Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre (MPMMCC) and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH) on the BHU campus. The role sits in the haematopathology laboratory, where blood cancers are diagnosed through bone marrow morphology, flow cytometry and molecular tests.

This is an ad-hoc appointment, filled through a walk-in interview until a regular officer joins. Both DM (Hematopathology) holders and MD/DNB Pathology holders can apply, though the two routes carry different experience rules and pay.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is initially for six months or until the regular post is filled, whichever comes first.
• Academic designation: After you join, TMC will give you a title such as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor as per National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.
• Lower grade option: MD/DNB candidates with less than the required post-MD experience may be considered for a lower grade if no suitably experienced candidate is found.
• Pay depends on route: DM holders are paid more than MD/DNB holders at every experience level, and pay rises with each year of experience.
• Added advantage: Hands-on work in minimal residual disease (MRD) detection and next generation sequencing (NGS) will count in your favour.
• Recognised degree: Your DM, MD or DNB must be recognised by the NMC.
