ACTREC Scientific Officer (HLA) Recruitment 2026: Overview
Tata Memorial Centre's Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, is looking for a Scientific Officer for its Transplant Immunology and Immunogenetics Lab, better known as the HLA lab. The post is filled by walk-in interview under advertisement OS-A/125/2026, and the job goes through an outsourced manpower services contractor rather than a direct Tata Memorial Centre appointment.
If you hold a master's degree in genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology or a related life science and already have hands-on time in an HLA or molecular biology lab, this short contract is a practical way into one of India's best-known cancer research campuses. HLA (human leukocyte antigen) testing is the tissue-matching work behind stem cell and organ transplants, so the role suits someone who is comfortable with careful, repeatable bench work. The notice does not list day-to-day duties, so use the interview to ask what the lab expects from you.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Outsourced engagement: You will be on the rolls of the outsourced contractor and placed at TMC-ACTREC on contract; this is not a regular TMC post.
- Tenure: The contract runs for six months to start with and can be extended if the lab still needs the position.
- Experience after the degree: Your lab experience counts only if you gained it after completing your M.Sc or M.Tech.
- Age flexibility: The upper age limit may be relaxed for candidates with more experience, so a slightly older but well-experienced candidate need not rule themselves out.
- Pay within the band: Where you land in the consolidated pay band depends on your experience beyond the minimum eligibility.
