Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a grant-in-aid institution under the Department of Atomic Energy, is recruiting Senior Residents in Onco-Anaesthesia for its non-Mumbai cancer-care network. The role sits within Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain and is designed for doctors who want focused clinical experience around cancer surgery and complex perioperative care. Placement preference is for Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, New Chandigarh, where the walk-in process is also being held.

This is a one-year senior residency rather than a permanent appointment. You will work in a specialist cancer hospital environment where anaesthesia planning, critical-care support, pain management, and coordination with surgical teams are central to daily practice. The hospital may use academic performance and other benchmarks to limit the number of doctors called forward when attendance is high.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Appointment is for one year from the date you join.
• Placement: TMC will place appointed doctors according to departmental needs at its non-Mumbai centres, with preference for candidates willing to serve at HBCH and RC, New Chandigarh.
• Rotation: The notification allows rotation across TMC units, including Tata Memorial Hospital, ACTREC, and Homi Bhabha cancer hospitals. Your eventual unit can therefore depend on service needs.
• Pay assessment: The applicable gross pay is decided using relevant experience gained after the essential postgraduate qualification.
• Experience cut-off: Age and post-qualification experience are reckoned on the day you attend the walk-in.
• Current employment: If you work for the Central or State Government, an autonomous or semi-government body, or a PSU, you need permission from your organisation before appearing.
• Screening benchmark: TMC may set minimum standards and shortlist using factors such as academic marks and the response to the advertisement.
• Accuracy of claims: Incorrect, incomplete, or hidden material information can cancel your candidature and may end the appointment even after joining.
• Reservation: Government reservation rules apply, but a reserved-category relaxation does not apply when a post is notified only for the unreserved category.
• Conduct: Canvassing in any form disqualifies the candidature.
