Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is inviting applications for a One Year Fellowship in Blood Component Therapy and Apheresis Technology at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya Cancer Centre (HBCH/MPMMCC), Varanasi. The fellowship sits within the hospital's Department of Transfusion Medicine and trains doctors in blood component preparation, apheresis techniques, and transfusion support for cancer patients undergoing treatment at the centre. The post is tenured and non-permanent, running for exactly one year from 1 October 2026 — it's a training-and-service fellowship, not a regular appointment. Doctors with an MD, DNB or MBBS background and relevant transfusion medicine experience can apply.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The fellowship is strictly for one year and does not carry any claim to extension, absorption, or continued service at TMC beyond the fellowship period.
• Medical Council registration: Before joining, you must be registered with the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council, and your UG/PG degrees must be recognised by the National Medical Commission.
• NOC for government employees: If you currently work in a Central or State Government department, autonomous body or semi-government organisation, you need a No Objection Certificate from your employer, uploaded with the application and produced again in original at the MCQ test or interview.
• Accommodation: Shared hostel accommodation may be offered depending on availability, with the hostel charges deducted every month from your stipend.
• No TA/DA: TMC does not pay travel or dearness allowance for candidates attending the MCQ test or interview.
• Jurisdiction: Any legal dispute connected with this recruitment falls under Varanasi jurisdiction only.

• Participate in training sessions and academic activities of the Transfusion Medicine department
• Report adverse transfusion reactions and maintain audit documentation
• Assist senior faculty with research and quality-improvement projects related to blood component therapy
