Service Conditions and Caveats

• Serving officers: If you currently work for the government, arrange permission and leave from your cadre-controlling authority for the engagement period.
• Campus residence: Living on campus is preferred. Studio accommodation may be available against a licence fee, subject to availability; accommodation is not guaranteed by selection.
• Leave: You earn 1.5 days for each completed month of service. Leave cannot accumulate beyond the calendar year, and a shorter engagement carries proportionate entitlement.
• Leaving headquarters: The notice allows up to 20 days away during a year, including weekends and holidays, reduced proportionately for a shorter engagement. Prior approval is needed, and excess absence is treated as unpaid leave.
• Medical access: The Academy hospital can provide care to the appointed professor, spouse and minor children. The arrangement does not include referral facilities.
• Campus facilities: You can use recreational and sports facilities on the same terms as other Academy faculty.
• Conduct: Conduct that conflicts with the Academy's operating procedures can lead to immediate termination. For serving officers, the Academy can also inform the parent organisation about misconduct or indiscipline.
• Appointment status: The visiting engagement gives you no right to a regular Academy appointment. Consider this condition when comparing it with continuing employment elsewhere.
• Academy discretion: The Academy may cancel the selection without giving reasons or accepting liability. It also retains the power to revise the engagement's terms and conditions.
